During his new televised address, Emmanuel Macron confirmed that all shops, and therefore hairdressers, can reopen from Saturday, November 28, 2020 in the morning. However, they will have to respect a new health protocol.

It is recalled that the latter protested concerning the new sanitary protocol which would make it very difficult to practice their profession, which the Minister acknowledged: « The problem of gauge at hairdressers, 8m² per customer, seems more difficult to follow than in other professions »

The government would consider accepting the request foropening of shops on Sunday, which would be as useful for the economy as for the respect of sanitary rules. « We look at this approach favorably, especially since it allows to respect the gauges, there is a health interest “, Assured Agnès Pannier-Runacher on Radio J.” So we will look with kindness on this request. Hairdressers, through their representative Christophe Doré, president of the National Union of Hairdressing Enterprises (UNEC), argue that such restrictions are “ not tenable ». « Hairdressing is a profession with a certain specificity, including exposure times. Sacralizing 8m² around a client who sits patiently and does not wander around the living room is incoherent. The hairstyle really has a special feature. It takes a minimum of half an hour if you are working on a men’s haircut, so there are important moments of presence », Explains the trade unionist at the microphone of BFMTV.

According to Christophe Doré, imposing such rules would only serve “ kill the profession. Like many other industries, hairdressers claim that it is vital for them to reopen in December, in order to ensure the survival of the shows. The president of UNEC regrets, however, that traders of all kinds did not have information upstream to to prepare their upcoming reopening.
