Openshaw explained that the influenza vaccine works to train the immune system to respond to the Corona virus, instead of creating new antibodies or cells to fight infection.
The chief consultant lecturer in primary health care at the University of Bristol, Robert Pine, confirmed that the vaccine enhances the ability of the immune system to get rid of the virus, or reduces the overactive immune response in patients who need intensive care.
