iPhone of the future .. a plate of glass!

A new patent indicates that Apple is working on a new iPhone that has a glass screen that rotates all around, according to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”.

The patent, called a “single pane of glass,” shows a device with displays on both the front and back. In addition to the touch screen buttons on its curved glass edges.

According to the British newspaper report, which was translated by (Watan), it is possible that the installation of the back of the iPhone with a 360-degree glass screen will more than double the size of the screen, without changing the shape or size of the device.

It is also possible that iPhone users will have two different displays on the front and back. Or alternatively keep one screen facing them if they turn it in their hands.

The report pointed out that the new patent was granted to the company by the United States Patent and Trademark Office and listed on November 16.

The full glass sides of the Apple Watch tower and future Mac Pros can also be used.

Apple says the device will appear “visually smooth and glossy,” with the entire phone appearing to be made from a single piece of glass.

It is likely to be formed from several separate pieces connected to each other. Using techniques that reduce the number and visibility of seams between the various components of the glass.

Apple adds that the upcoming iPhone may not have a dedicated “front” or “top” or be visually recognizable.

6 screens!

The phone will have six screens, the patent says – one for each side of a transparent six-sided enclosure.

While this looks like a glass box, the upcoming device will still look a lot like a modern smartphone.

Two of these six sides will be the front and the back. While the remaining four will be the four edges of the phone.

However, these bezels will have glass screens as well. Which provides an additional view or even shows a vertical set of apps that the user has opened.

One edge will still be needed for the speakers and other components.

Illustrations from the patent also indicate that the edges will be curved. It was also last seen with the iPhone 11 in 2019.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 of last year have flat edges, as opposed to the curved edges of previous iPhone models.

British designer Joni Ive, who worked at Apple from 1992 to 2019, previously spoke about the all-glass iPhone concept, which he calls a “single pane of glass”. According to reports going back to 2016.

Business Insider previously said that “big shards of glass are kind of obsessive” for Joni Ive, who also helped design Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
