LuLu Group, owner of the leading hypermarket and supermarket chain in the region, has announced that it has become the first major retail outlet to subscribe to Empay, the world’s first integrated contactless payment system with instant credit. Empay is a secure cashless payment application designed and developed within the framework of the UAE’s smart government program.
The agreement was signed at the Department of Economic Development in between Ali Ibrahim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Empay and Salem MA, Director of the Lulu Group in the presence of Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai, and James K. Varghese, Director of Lulu Group International, Mona Al Qassab, CEO of Empay, and Gigi George Koshy, Executive Vice President and Head of Products.
LuLu customers can now safely use Empay via Tap and Pay when shopping in all of the more than 250 LuLu outlets around the world. In addition to contactless payment, users can also make various payments from within the app such as government payments, online food ordering, tuition payments, consumer services payments, and many more.
Empire also provides instant credit facilities for people who need financing to make various payments without having to visit banks and complete lengthy formal procedures.
This partnership will set a new and contemporary path for shopping and paying. Empay will also offer exciting offers and deals for Lulu shoppers in the coming days. Citizens and residents of the UAE can download the new application for free from app stores on Android and iPhone devices, register within a few minutes, and benefit from the digital MasterCard integrated into the application.
