Emirates Payment Services Company announced the launch of the Empay application, the first modern integrated contactless payment system with instant credit.
“Empay” is an initiative developed within the framework of the Emirates Smart Government program, which is an application for secure, cashless payments.
It is also considered the first application in the region to be developed locally for contactless payment via mobile phones, and was specially designed for citizens and residents of the UAE of all kinds.
Emirates Payment Services stated that “Empay” provides users with multiple payment methods according to their needs, as it constitutes an integrated platform for payment services for the government and private sectors, through a wide range of payment services and various services, such as renewing commercial licenses for the Department of Economic Development in Dubai, and paying bills of all kinds. Order food, pay tuition fees, international money transfers, interpersonal micropayments (P2P), and many more.
She added that “Empay” also provides immediate credit facilities to people who need financing in making various payments, without the need to contact banks and carry out traditional procedures and paperwork.
Deputy Director General of Dubai Economy, Chairman and Managing Director of “Empay”, Ali Ibrahim, said: “We are pleased to launch (Empay), the new method for making contactless payments and financial transactions.”
He added that “(Embay) is part of the UAE smart government initiative, and its launch comes at a time when the UAE maintains its pivotal position in the global economy.”
For her part, CEO of “Empay”, Mona Al-Qassab, said that “(Embay) seeks to become the ideal payment system for all citizens and residents in the UAE,” noting that in light of the changes in the patterns of life and daily trade and the rapid growth in retail trade Online, this trend is expected to continue in the coming period.
“Empay” provides users in the government and private sectors with multiple payment methods through a wide range of services.
