Sundar Pichai, President, Inc. The Google The American tech giant announced, Thursday, to invest one billion dollars in partnership agreements with newspaper publishers around the world in preparation for the launch of a new news service.
“This financial commitment will provide income for publishers to create and choose high-quality content for a better online news experience,” Pichai wrote in the Twitter post.
Pichai explained that the new product that will be presented by the “Google” company, will be available initially through the “Google News” service on the “Android” system, and then through the same service on the “iOS” operating system of the “Apple” group.
He pointed out that the American giant had signed agreements for these new contents within the so-called “Google News Showcase”, which included about 200 press publishers in Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Britain and Australia.
Among these newspaper publishers are Der Spiegel, Stern, De Tset and Fulia de São Paulo, as well as publishers for more local newspapers including “El Litoral”, “GZH”, “Wase” and Sotoday.
