A total Dh12.7 million was paid as tuition fees for 2,120 students of various nationalities in schools and universities in various part of the county as part of student education support launched by the Sharjah Charity International Organisation (SCIO).

Asaad Al Zarouni, head of internal aid, said: "SCIO undertakes to pay the fees and academic dues for schools and university students of families with low income and those who are unable to pay so that they can continue their studies. The project gives them the opportunity to achieve their ambition and a bright future with enlightened thought and knowledge for their societies."

He added the support of student education is one of SCIO's missions which aims at investing in and improving the student. "There are hundreds of poor families who are unable to pay educational fees for their children and our organisation pays for them after conducting case study to ensure their eligibility for assistance." 

He stressed that the educational aid covers school students in different classes as well as those studying in universities. The value of the assistance provided in this regard amounted to Dh12.7 million for 2,120 students, including 185 university students who received Dh1.6 million and 1,912 elementary school students who were offered Dh11 million. A total of Dh120,000 assisted 14 students of determination. The education project also provided school supply bags to all the needy students.

The SCIO has extended thanks to the donors for their remarkable support for the education project.
