Providing support to parents in the UAE on the distance learning programme, British Orchard Nursery became one of the first nurseries to roll out an innovative and fun learning platform to keep the children engaged at home. BONline, an online programme comprising mini-tutorials and activity sheets, was launched immediately after the Ministry of Education’s decision in this regard.

The programme is specially curated by teachers and curriculum coordinators to ensure that continual learning is carried out every day in a simple yet engaging manner. The concept covers all learning milestones that will help progress toddlers and young children to achieve their Early Years Learning goals.

In addition, parents have been given hotline numbers and can still reach out to their branch principal should they need to.

The virtual learning curriculum also features videos made by British Orchard Nursery that provides visual guides to parents and young children on various educational and entertainments activities they can do at home. These include teaching them the importance of washing hands, Threading and Lacing, Making Playdough, Gloop Making, teaching Matching Sounds and science experiments among other videos.

Commenting on the programme, Dr Vandana Gandhi, Founder and CEO of British Orchard Nursery, said, “We understand that a continual routine will help our little tots to still be connected to educational concepts and learning. However, this requires a structured programme that parents can follow, and this is why we have created BONline platform that can guide parents plan activities on day-to-day basis as per the need and level of their child.

“Our Language teachers are also involved and sending videos in French, Mandarin and Arabic. That way, children are still connected to their teachers and can still communicate with them. The programme ensures that the term 3 curriculum goals are met and will help the children progress to the next academic year with confidence.”
