Football superstar Lionel Messi has started the countdown in a new video shot in Al Wasl Square.

Messi in a new video is seen kicking a football into Al Wasl Plaza through the opening at the centre of its dome.

The new video of Messi coincides with three months to go until Expo 2020.

Expo 2020 has recently released the details of three ticket tiers with one-day tickets priced at Dhs 95 ($26); multi-day tickets for unrestricted entry for a month for Dhs 195; and season passes, with unlimited entry for the entire six months, costing Dhs 495.

A new surprise awaits visitors on each of Expo’s 182 days, inspiring guests to visit as many times as possible.

There will be free entry for children under the age of 18 and students with valid ID from any academic institution in the world.

For people of determination there will be complimentary tickets and their companion will get a 50 per cent discount. Elderly above the 60 years can also enter for free.

Advance ticket sales will begin on July 18.
