The Dubai Police have open their doors for volunteers to join the Mounted Police Unit in raising awareness on precautionary measures against COVID-19 across the emirate of Dubai, under the recently launched voluntary initiative, "Ride with Dubai Mounted Police Unit”.

Major General Mohammad Al Adhb, director of Dubai Mounted Police Station, confirmed that Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has directed the launch of this initiative, which aims to strengthen the concepts of community partnership, and contributes to educating community members about the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

"The force is always keen on promoting the culture of volunteering in order to ensure sustainable development and build a better future for new generations", Al Adhb added.

Al Adhb explained that the initiative comes as part of the ‘All Responsible For All' campaign launched to support the fight against COVID-19.

He indicated that volunteers would attend several educational lectures to qualify them to participate in spreading awareness on the necessary precautionary measures that will help to combat Coronavirus.

"Volunteers will be distributed in different locations across the emirate," Al Adhb continued.

For his part, Captain Khalifa Al Roum, Director of Dubai Police Volunteer Platform, elaborated that volunteers will be joining the Dubai Police officers in spreading awareness at "Al Khawaneej," "Al Warqa," "Al Bada'a," "Umm Suqeim," "Al Barsha," "City Walk," "GBR," and "The Boulevard."

"Applicants are expected to be physically fit, at least 21 years old, possess official jockey apparel, and provide a proof of a negative test result for COVID-19," Al Roum stressed.

"A supervisor, deputy supervisor and integrated work team will be present to ensure volunteers' safety in each jurisdiction area. We will provide police vests, protective equipment, and a paramedic in case of emergencies," he added.

"Those who wish to volunteer can visit the initiative page at Dubai Police website, register after ensuring that the requirements are met, and follow Dubai Police's social media accounts for updates and latest news on the initiative," director of Dubai Police Volunteer Platform explained.
