His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of , today, chaired a cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan, during which a new type of residence visa was unveiled in the country.  

The new Remote Work Visa allows employees from all over the world to live and work remotely from the UAE even if their companies are based in another country.

Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter, “With the remote cutting-edge technologies today, we provide an opportunity for everyone to live in the most beautiful and safest cities in the world. Moreover, we decided to adopt multi-entry tourist visas for all nationalities ... the UAE is a global economic capital … and all our decisions will be based on this vision.”

He continued, “We approved legislative amendments and reforms regarding conciliation and mediation centres in the civil and commercial disputes and regarding mediation to settle these disputes and the use of digital technologies in completing the judicial procedures and transactions. The judiciary and legislation must keep pace with the rapid technological changes because they are major pillars in the country.”

His Highness also revealed approval of a national system for hydrogen vehicles and a national programme for energy and water demand management to unify efforts, especially in the field of rationalising consumption. This is expected to increase efficiency by 40 per cent for the three most important energy-consuming sectors (transport, industry and construction), he added.

He also announced the country's accession to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the country's membership of the BRICS New Development Bank.

“Our economic partnerships are constantly growing and our development partners are increasing day by day,” Sheikh Mohammed said on twitter.
