An African woman, aged 30, was booked by police and referred to criminal court for forging passport stamps in attempt to leave through the country’s airport.
The incident took place last December, when the defendant came across an employee assigned to check passport and visa details of travellers.
It took seconds for the experienced employee to notice the fake stamp while checking her passport.
Apparently, forgers use these fake stamps as a mean to enter other countries without being caught, as Dubai is known for its high security checkups, and other countries’ airport officers would not suspect travellers once they arrive from Dubai.
The vigilance employee at the airport helped in the successful arrest of the defendant.
She was charged with forgery and a maximum prison sentence is expected for the defendant who carelessly committed a crime, thinking that she would easily get away with.
