Google is adding a new “Time Insights” panel to its Google Calendar service across the web version, which shows users how much workweek they spend in meetings.

And according to a blog post from the company, the feature will be rolled out gradually over the next month across specific levels, according to the Arab Gateway for Technical News.

It was first announced in March as part of a suite of new features coming to Google Workspace.

The Time Insights panel arrives two years after Google and Apple added similar details in Android and iOS, respectively, to show how much time a user spends using different apps.

But while these OS features included the ability to set time limits for each app, Google Calendar won’t let you set similar limits for meetings.

A screenshot posted by the company shows what kind of ideas the board provides. At the top is a “time splitting” pie chart, showing how much work hours you spend in meetings, which are split into meetings between just two people, versus larger groups of three or more.

There’s also a snapshot of time spent in meetings on a weekly basis, as well as highlights on the busiest days, and the average hours spent in meetings each day.

Calendar entries in which you are the only attendee do not count toward these meeting totals, the company notes on the support page.

The search giant maintains that this information is visible to you, not to your manager, however it adds that it may be possible to see someone else’s details, if they have permission to manage their calendar.

The feature is turned on by default, and while it can be turned off by Google Workspace administrators, it can only be minimized, not disabled, by users.

Time statistics are available to users in the Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, and Nonprofits subscription categories.

However, it will not be accessible to G Suite Basic and Business customers, or those in Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Enterprise Essentials, Education Fundamentals, and Frontline tiers.
