I started a company Oculus introduces a range of new software features for its Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 VR headsets.

The new update introduces some small tweaks. But what matters is the in-glasses user experience, as well as the Oculus Move health tracking app.

The most striking feature is the option to automatically sync saved photos and videos captured in VR with the Oculus mobile app for iOS and Android.

In a previous update, Oculus allows you to download files from the glasses through the Browser application in virtual reality, which is an improvement over the original method of connecting the glasses to the computer. But this update goes a step further in removing more steps when viewing or sharing content, as it allows you to do so without your glasses.

To sync items from Glass to the app for the first time, open the Files app from the Quest Apps library within Glass, and then tap the cloud icon that appears in the upper-right corner.

It asks you to turn on the sync feature. Once completed, your clips and photos are viewable and shareable in the hardware portion of the Oculus mobile app.

Oculus has made a few other changes, including the ability to gift apps and games while the glasses are on.

Previously, gifting had to be done via the Oculus app or through a browser. But you can do it all in one place now.

If you want to chat with your Oculus friends while in VR, you’ll soon find these contacts in the People tab of Messenger in VR, not as a separate section.

Oculus contacts are placed in the same list as your Facebook friends. But Oculus says the friends you made in VR won’t be able to see your Facebook activity unless you add them as Facebook friends. So they remain separate despite how they appear within the app.

Oculus is making modifications to the Move fitness platform. which can monitor your in-game movements to report metrics, such as a fitness tracker.

Instead of tracking daily goals, Oculus has added the new weekly goal metric. Which lets you specify the number of days you aim to exercise in VR each week.

It also allows you to share your Oculus Move workout stats via Facebook, your groups, or within Messenger.
