Asus and Sapphire prices revealed ahead of launch

24 hours from their market launch, the Asus and Sapphire custom models of the RX 6800 and 6800 XT reveal their prices. And as you might expect, graphics cards will be priced relatively more affordable than the competition.

If the next AMD RX 6800 and 6800 XT will be officially released on November 18, 2020, the prices of the different custom models remain for the moment one of the unknowns. In this field, AMD is known to always beat Nvidia flatly, and it is certain that the manufacturers will give it their all to offer models that are much more accessible than those of the green competitor.

Because if Nvidia released its new range of RTX two months ago, including the famous RTX 3080, which experienced an unprecedented shortage of stock, its prices are still very high. So will AMD and the various manufacturers manage to do well before the end of the year holidays on the graphics card market?

The most powerful of the RX 6800 XT appears at only 1020 euros

Now, just over 24 hours from the official marketing of the new cards, a leak from the Anglo-Saxon reseller Lambdatek makes it possible to know the prices of the models. Asus and Sapphire of RX 6800 and 6800 XT. If the price list seems to have been removed from the retailer’s site, it has had time to be disseminated here and there on the Web. Here are the prices charged by Asus and Sapphire for the new AMD graphics cards:

• Asus Radeon RX 6800 XT ROG STRIX LC: £ 764 (£ 917 with tax, i.e. € 1020)
• Asus Radeon RX 6800 XT TUF GAMING OC: £ 676 (£ 811 with tax, or € 810)
• Asus Radeon RX 6800 TUF Gaming OC: £ 588 (£ 705 with tax, or € 785)
• Asus Radeon RX 6800 ROG STRIX OC: £ 605 (£ 726 with tax, or € 810)

• Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO + OC SE: £ 654 (£ 785 with tax, evening € 875)
• Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO + OC: £ 635 (£ 762 with tax, i.e. 850 €)
• Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 NITRO + OC: £ 555 (£ 666 with tax, i.e. € 745)

Quite clearly, the custom models of the new AMD graphics cards are likely to win all the votes in terms of price among gamers. Especially since AMD’s new chipsets are able to hold out against their competitor Nvidia, which are displayed at higher prices. Just yesterday, we thus discovered the first benchmarks of the RX 6800 XT in 4K, a graphics card model which is finally able to match the GeForce RTX 3090. By way of comparison, this same card from Nvidia is sold for over € 1,500, while the most advanced Radeon RX 6800 model (Asus Radeon RX 6800 XT ROG STRIX LC) is just over € 1,000.

For equivalent performance, the price is therefore reduced by a third. What if this year AMD finally emerges as the big winner in the field of graphics cards?
