The Ryzen 5 5600X proves its worth on Cinebench R15 and...

Still ahead of the Core i5-10600K and Core i7-10700K in single-core.

We’ve already had a good look at how AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X performs in recent days. In addition to taking first place on PassMark in single-core (since, it was stolen by the Ryzen 9 5950X), the 6-core / 12-thread chip of the Ryzen 5000 had humiliated the Core i5-10600K on SiSoftware. Decidedly very cruel, here he is doing it again and fining the Core i5 and i7 from Intel’s Comet Lake-S range on Cinebench R15 er R20.

Note that on Cinebench R15, the Ryzen 5 5600X operates at a slightly overclocked frequency: 4.7 GHz while its benchmarks are 3.7 GHz base and 4.6 GHz in Boost. The testing platform consists of an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII HERO motherboard and DDR4-3200 memory. In single-core, the chip obtains a score of 258 points; in multicore, 2,040 points.

For comparison, the Intel Core i5-10600K scores 206 points and 1428 points respectively; The Core i7-10700K, 217 and 2,005 points. On AMD’s side, the Ryzen 5 3600XT tops out at 210 and 1,639 points; the Ryzen 7 3700X, 204 and 2,112 points. Remember that the Intel Cores mentioned here have TDP of 125 W against 65 W for the Ryzen 5.

Thus, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X is 25% faster in single-core and 42% more efficient in multicore than the Core i5-10600K from Intel. It is also 22% and 25% faster than its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 3600XT. Beaten in single-core, the Ryzen 7 3700X, equipped with 8 cores / 16 threads, wins in multicores.

On Cinebench R20, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X achieves scores of 609 and 4,746 points. The Core i5-10600K, 498 and 3,570 points; the Core i7-10700K 518 and 4,870 points; the Ryzen 5 3600XT, 521 and 3,719 points; finally, the Ryzen 7 3700X, 509 and 4,836 points. In single-core, the Ryzen 5 5600X is therefore ahead of all its rivals; in multicore, it follows the Ryzen 7 and Core i7, yet equipped with two additional cores.

Considering all of these results, one hopes for Intel – and consumers – that its eleventh generation, Rocket Lake-S, will deliver. Recently, a Rocket Lake-S processor achieved very promising scores on UserBenchmark.

Overclocked 6.12 GHz

Finally, know that on Cinebench R15, the Ryzen 5 5600X was also overclocked to 4.95 GHz although air cooled; under these conditions, he obtained a single-core score of 272 points. Otherwise,
