The pieces are starting to unite for the final days of Destiny 2’s arrival season as new public and private evidence emerges that looks like it paints a potential picture of what is to come.
If you want to avoid all possible spoilers, avoid now, but know that nothing is confirmed and I am just trying to piece the puzzle together with no real inside information.
So yesterday a big deal was made of a new emblem for Destiny 2 that was extracted from the PlayStation Store by r / raidsecrets.
The high-resolution art featured above appears to show a healed traveler and a solid Destiny 1 tower, which leads people to believe that these could be plot developments before or during the upcoming season. I wasn’t so sure until I was advised that this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a healed traveler (who has been broken after Ghaul’s gadgets since the end of the Red War campaign) as a whole. Traveler is also represented in the Beyond Light director shared by Bungie:
And yes, for comparison: The traveler appears as broken in the current Destiny director:
While all of this was going on, Dataminer Parisito listed three different words and did not elaborate on their meaning, which means that they are likely things that they found in the data in the backend:
These could be potential new locations; H. something in the “repaired” tower, although Traveler’s Grace sure sounds like a mission or event name to me.
In addition, we knew a long time beforehand about a “Calamity Protocol” emblem in the backend that was acquired for “Witness of the end of season 11”.
All of this adds up to a central theory I have that we will get at least one end-of-season event in the almighty style (though hopefully one that moves faster) where we can see the traveler healing himself. Prepare for a conflict before the impending pyramid invasion.
How for a return to Destiny 1 Tower? I am less aware of that. All we have to do is this central piece of art and I wouldn’t expect anything The great as part of the end-of-season event. But maybe as a development in Beyond Light itself? It is possible. The current tower begins to empty. The appendix is as good as dead, Ada-1 and Benedict are leaving, and the Drifter will likely be on Europa by now. The hangar has never had anything relevant other than Saint in the last two seasons (sorry Amanda). Maybe it’s time for a new (old) room, and three years seems like enough time to fix the old tower. In addition, all of the old missions that revolve around the destroyed tower, namely the Campaign of the Red War and Zero Hour, are now removed from the game. But I haven’t seen enough evidence to prove to me that we are definitely going back there.
The director alone is enough to convince me that the traveler will soon be cured. Whether this is literally the end of the season I’m not sure for sure, but it seems likely as it is something that everyone can watch from the tower, just like the Almighty. Stay tuned for more information.
