A number of Apple customers are finding that their iPhone 12 orders have already shipped. However, the delivery reports show that orders are on the way. However, even before Apple’s October 23 release date, shipments are unlikely to happen.

After opening pre-orders on Thursday, Apple was inundated with orders for two of its 2020 flagship smartphones. Sales of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro began on October 16, as the sheer volume of orders pushed the estimated delivery dates back to November for late-night buyers.

For those lucky enough to secure an order within hours of availability, there will be an anxious wait for their orders, which has led some to investigate the progress of their order. According to posts on social media, some orders have actually shipped.

Some Apple customers who have reviewed UPS tracking service have found deals on their In Transit orders at their destination. The same listings do not provide a time for delivery as they are marked as “date provisional”.

Despite the encouraging signs from the tracking, it is very unlikely that many of them will lead to an early delivery of the iPhones to their new owners before October 23rd. With previous shipments, Apple has worked with shipping partners to try to keep shipping set on the release date for the products and it is unlikely that these guidelines will have changed for the latest version.

So far, only two iPhone models have been pre-ordered. The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max are expected to be available to order from November 6th. The start date is November 13th.

While iPhone orders are unlikely to arrive before Apple’s street date, customers who have also ordered accessories have started receiving their purchases. These include the newly announced MagSafe charger and cases for the new models.
