The Pokemon Company revealed a ton of new details about Pokemon Sword and Shield’s upcoming Crown Tundra expansion during their latest video presentation. The DLC will be released around the world later this week. To celebrate its start, the company is giving away a special Pokémon to all sword and shield players: Ash’s Pikachu. Or more precisely, give it away eight Ashs Pikachu.

Ahead of Crown Tundra’s release, players can claim eight special Pikachu, each of which wears one of the different hats Ash has put on throughout the Pokemon anime. A similar action took place after the launch of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon in 2018. So if you missed the Pikachu, you have another chance to get it.

The Crown Tundra DLC arrives on October 22nd and takes players to a new Arctic area where they will lead an expedition team. A wide variety of returning Pokémon can be found in the area, including all Legendaries from previous games. The Crown Tundra also introduces a new co-op mode called Dynamax Adventures. On these expeditions, you will team up with up to three other players to explore Raid Dens together and fight the various Dynamax Pokémon you will encounter along the way.

In addition, The Pokemon Company re-confirmed that Pokemon Go compatibility will soon be available on Pokemon Home. The feature is expected to be available before the end of the year and will allow you to transfer Pokemon straight from Go to Home. For this you will get a few free gifts. First you get the Mystery Box in Pokemon Go, which you can use to summon the mythical Pokemon Meltan in the wild. In addition, you will receive a Melmetall that can gigantamax via Mystery Gift in Pokemon Home.
