Samsung has a new tracking shot in the works
Pictured is the standard Galaxy S21 5G model with an updated design that revolves around a brand new camera bump. Samsung has replaced the boring, all-black model of the Galaxy S20 with a bump that matches the color of the phone.
Each individual sensor is now highlighted in the raised area, as seen earlier on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and the camera bump itself curves over the metal frame, creating a more unique appearance.
There doesn’t seem to be any plans to add additional cameras next year – Samsung added three rear cameras to the Galaxy S21 – but expect the usual sensor upgrades for better overall results.
Few changes were made to the front
The Galaxy S20 has received praise for its minimalist front design and Samsung has taken this reaction into account. The 5G Galaxy S21 looks almost identical to its predecessor by using a 6.2-inch hole-hole display with minimal bezels, although the chin appears slimmer than before.
All of this means that the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S20 are almost exactly the same size. Both phones are 151.7mm tall and 7.9mm thick without taking the camera bump into account, though there’s a small difference in width – the Galaxy S21 is 71.2mm wide while the Galaxy S20 is just 69.1mm was wide.
Other features visible in the renderings are a bottom-firing speaker and a USB-C port. The usual on / off switch and the volume rocker are located on the right side of the frame. Like last year, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
Specifications and features of the Samsung Galaxy S21
These chipsets will likely be paired with at least 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, although other configurations with more storage and possibly additional RAM should be available.
As for the battery, the Galaxy S21 is expected to come with the same 4,000 mAh battery that is used in the Galaxy S20. Support for 25W power supplies is also expected, although these may not be included.
