The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro were available for pre-order on Friday at 5 a.m. PST, but some customers who rarely got their hands on the latest version of Apple have reported problems getting their orders. Customers have reported delays and errors to Apple, T-. Mobile and Verizon websites.
It was not clear if the reported issues were simply the result of high demand as many people tried to place orders for the phones in the same time slot, or unrelated technical issues on the websites.
“That was stressful. The website was slow and crashed, ”wrote a Twitter user. Another user said it took more than 30 minutes to pre-order, and another said he needed to keep updating on four different devices before placing the order.
For the most part, users reported problems with the Apple website, but customer reports have also surfaced of problems with the T-Mobile and Verizon websites.
Of course, not all customers have problems. Several users said they could easily place their pre-orders on the Verizon and T-Mobile websites.
Apple declined to comment on reports of pre-order difficulties. Verizon did not immediately respond to the request for comment, but a T-Mobile representative said customer service had dealt with the complaints and did not identify “many” or “persistent” customer problems.
Customers can purchase the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro through Apple, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Best Buy, and Target. The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone Pro Max cannot be pre-ordered until November 6th.
