FC Platinum players and head coach, Lizwe Sweswe, said that their side will look to beat Egypt’s Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League.

FC Platinum have lost both of their opening group stage games in the CAF Champions League to Etoile du Sahel and Al Hilal, to sit bottom of Group B.

Despite their poor start, striker Mkhokheli Dube, defender Kelvin Madzongwe and head coach Lizwe Sweswe seem to be optimistic ahead of their encounter against the Red Devils.

“We are happy that we won the domestic league but now we have since shifted focus to the African Champions League. We are not reading much into the losses in our first two games we are going there to win,” says FC Platinum Striker Mkhokheli Dube.

“Playing in these championships is not easy and especially coming from the two losses we now know what we need to do, we have been working so hard so that we grind a better result in Cairo,” said Madzongwe.

“We have been under a lot of pressure and the domestic league has also been on our shoulders. Now that the league is over, we tried to manage the pressure and have been working flat out to ensure we match the African giants,” said Sweswe.

The Zimbabwean side will visit Al Ahly on Saturday December 28th in Al-Salam Stadium at 21:00pm local time.
