Thank you for reading the news about EFA reduce Kahraba, Ashour suspensions following appeals and now with the details
Dubai - Yasmine El Tohamy - The Appeal Committee of the Egyptian Football Association has announced the reduction of suspensions imposed on both Kahrana and Emam Ashour.
Following the unfortunate events that occurred in the Egyptian Super Cup match, which was held in the UAE on February 20th, the EFA Discipline and Ethics Committee has issued heavy penalties against some players that were involved in the events and on both clubs as well.
The most notable penalties were imposed on Al Ahly’s Mahmoud Kahraba and Zamalek’s Emam Ashour who were suspended until the end of the season.
However, an appeal was submitted by both clubs and on Thursday, the EFA has announced they accepted their appeal submitted and reduced the suspension of both players to become for only ten matches instead for the whole season.
Moreover, the committee stated that the same amendment of penalty is going to be applied to Zamalek’s staff member Ahmed Zaher as well by making the suspension for 12 matches only instead of the whole season.
As for the appeal submitted by Zamalek against the Competitions Committee on February 26th regarding the no show in the derby match against Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League, the committee has accepted the appeal in form but rejected it as a matter. Hence, the penalties will remain the same.
