Ivory Coast goalkeeper Padra Ali Sangareh announced the death of his father, hours after the goalkeeper committed a “fatal” blunder that caused his country’s draw with Sierra Leone in the African Cup.
Sangaret wrote on his Facebook account: “With great sadness, I learned that my father passed away last night. God, in his mercy, wanted to bring him back to his side, and despite the pain of this great loss I will fight on the field to make him happy for me. Death does not stop love. Rest in peace.” Oh my father.”
Sangari also posted a picture of his father along with his farewell message, saying: “You fell last night. You fell and you will never be able to get up again. I will miss you so much.”
