Palestine achieved third place in the West Asian Junior Championships (under 14 years old) by defeating Lebanon “B” team 2-0 in the match that was held between them, today, Friday, to determine the third and fourth place owners of the championship that Lebanon is hosting its first edition on the grounds of President Fouad Complex. The Palestinian team opened the scoring early in the second minute of the first half through Raghad Abu Al-Khammam, after a mistake by Lebanon goalkeeper “B” Nour Hammoudi.

Lynn Khoury added the second goal for Palestine in the seventh minute of the first half with a missile shot from outside the penalty area.
Soon, the Lebanon A team will face its Jordanian counterpart to determine the winner of the tournament title in its first edition.

The first edition of the West Asian Women’s Championship was held in Lebanon from 8 to 14 January, with the participation of 4 teams representing 3 countries, with Lebanon participating with teams “A” and “B”, in addition to the teams of Jordan and Palestine.

The tournament was held in a single group system, where the four teams faced each other in the league system in the first round to determine the group’s ranking, and then the first and second place owners would face each other to determine the champion and the third and fourth place owners to determine the rest of the arrangement.
