The Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah match in the 13th stage of the Qatar Stars League was canceled in the 42nd minute, after Al Wakrah defender, Malian Othman Coulibaly, suddenly fell inside the stadium, yesterday, Saturday.

The player needed resuscitation after his heart stopped before he was transferred to the hospital, which sparked terror among the players of the two teams who refused to complete the match, so the referee decided to end it after playing only 42 minutes.

The Qatar League Foundation said in a statement: “During the Al-Wakra Club match against Al-Rayyan Club, the player Othman Coulibaly suffered a heart attack, which required the intervention of the medical staff and ambulance personnel present in the match. The player is currently receiving the necessary medical care and attention.”

With regard to the status of the match between the two teams, the Qatar League Foundation clarified that it had been agreed to end it and to complete the remaining time at a later time with the same result when it was stopped (1-0 in favor of Al Rayyan Club).
