Turkey shakes Gibraltar (video)

The Turkish national team defeated its guest Gibraltar with six goals without a response, in the meeting that brought them together today, Saturday, in the ninth round of the European qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Turkish striker Karim Akturkoglu opened the goal celebration early, in the 11th minute from the start of the whistle. His fellow striker Halil Drovizoglu added two consecutive goals in the 38th and 41st minutes.

Turkish defender Merih Demiral consolidated the hosts’ lead by scoring the fourth goal for his country in the 65th minute, and his colleague defender Mert Mulder added the fifth goal in the 81st minute, and after only three minutes, striker Serdar Dorsun concluded the goal celebration.

After this victory, the Turkish team raised its score to 18 points, and advanced to the second place in the standings of Group F, surpassing its Norwegian counterpart, who fell into a goalless draw at home against its Latvian guest, by goal difference.
