South African Patrice Motsebe, president of the Confederation of African Football, revealed his opinion on holding the World Cup every two years instead of its usual system, which is held every four years.

Motsebi said in his statements during his stay in Ghana: “I am very clear, the biggest beneficiaries of football about the establishment of the World Cup every two years, the developing countries.”

“Europe is against this idea, but this idea is suitable for Africa,” he added.

And he continued, “The establishment of the World Cup according to the new system will be beneficial for the continent of Africa to benefit from the financial aspect.”

The CAF president hinted that the African Premier League would be on the agenda in the coming period.

The last period witnessed a desire on the part of the President of the International Federation, Gianni Infantino, to hold the World Cup every two years instead of four, amid rejection by some continental federations.
