- Yasmine El Tohamy - Al Ahly manager Rene Weiler said that his side deserved the win against Ismaily and expressed his delight with their seven-game winning run.

The Red Devills managed to beat Ismaily 1-0 to secure their seventh consecutive in the league this season, putting them on top of the league with 21 points.

Weiler talked about the win saying that he’s happy that Al Ahly keep improving every game and believes his side deserved the three points.

“This is the first time that I discover I might break a long standing record,” said Weiler during the post match press conference.

“I care more about getting positive results and keep improving and watch our players keep improving.”

“We will celebrate this win now and start preparing tomorrow for the Ittihad of Alexandria game”

“Ismaily played well during the first 15 minutes. We made several changes to the team and there are some players who started appearing more regularly.”

“They only got won chance while we got many goalscoring opportunities and we deserved the win,” he added.

Weiler then refused to rate Ali Maaloul’s and Marwan Mohsen’s performance but defended Mohamed Hany and talked about Rami Rabiaa’s injury.

“Mohamed Hany performed really well, no defender can intercept all the balls during a game.”

“Rabiaa got a cramp and I didn’t want to risk him getting as serious injury. Especially with the amount of games we have and it was a good opportunity to give Saad Samir his comeback.

“The results are going as planned but winning isn’t everything as the most important thing is to see your side improve. Even if we lose some points it’s not the end of the world.

“With every win the pressure increases and our mission becomes harder,” he concluded.

The Red Devils will host Ittihad of Alexandria in their next game on Monday November 23rd.
