The English newspaper, Mirror, revealed that Mohamed Salah asked the Liverpool administration to get 500,000 pounds per week as a salary to agree to renew his contract.

Mohamed Salah’s contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2023, as the 29-year-old earns 200,000 pounds per week now.

The newspaper pointed out that Salah requested more than double the current salary to agree to the renewal with the desire of the club coach, Jurgen Klopp, to preserve it, amid the anticipation of clubs such as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool renewed his contract this summer with Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Nat Phillips, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Adrian, Herve Elliott and Kaimhen Kelleher.

According to the Mirror, Liverpool are seeking to increase Mohamed Salah’s salary with the renewal of the contract, but he will not make an offer of 500,000 pounds per week.

Salah scored 127 goals and assisted 49 others in 206 games he played with Liverpool since he moved to the team from Rome in the summer of 2017.
