- Yasmine El Tohamy - Former Zamalek head coach, Mohamed Salah, said that the players’ lack of motivation was one of the main reason behind their poor resul against Teungueth FC.

The Whites continued their disappointing form in the continental competition with another goalless draw in the group stages.

Following their 0-0 draw in the opening group stage game against MC Alger they visited Senegalese side Teungueth FC.

Despite yet again having the upper hand over their opponents in terms of possession and chances created, Zamalek failed to capitalize on their chances.

Salah seems to think that Jaime Pacheco’s (Zamalek head coach) poor control over the players is the main reason behind them not winning.

“I fear that Zamalek will regret losing the two points in front of Teungueth, but we still have time to lead the group,” he told OnTime Sport TV.

“Don’t forget what the club did for you, you are not bigger than the club or the coaching staff.

“There is some lack of motivation and failure to comply with the instructions of the coaching staff led by Jaime Pacheco on the pitch.

“I feel that the coaching staff is not sufficiently in control of the players on the field. Some players have to return to their senses,” he concluded.

Zamalek now sit third in Group D with two points, two behind leaders Esperance who drew 1-1 with MC Alger match day 2.

The White Knights’ next game will be against Wadid Degla in the Egyptian Premier League and will visit the Tunisian powerhouse four days later.
