Thank you for reading the news about Pitso Mosimane satisfied with Bayern Munich display and now with the details
Dubai - Yasmine El Tohamy - Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane believes his side played a good game against Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup semi-finals.
After beating Qatari champions Al-Duhail in the second round of the Club World Cup thanks to a Hussein El-Shahat strike, Al Ahly had booked their spot in the tournament’s semi-finals.
The draw had set the Red Devils in a big meeting against Bayern Munich in the semifinal where they hoped to achieve the target of making the Club World Cup final for the first time in six appearances.
Despite a spirited performance, the Cairo giants fell to a 2-0 defeat, with Robert Lewandowski, scoring a goal each half.
Speaking after the game, Pitso Mosimane said: “We played against a great team and they possessed the ball. We should have chosen better options when we had the ball to attack.
“We could have had a corner or a free-kick. Our reaction should have better in the second-half, but it wasn’t the worst, and that’s okay
“We knew that the game wouldn’t be as easy as Al-Duhail game and we played good against a very strong side,” the South African added.
Al Ahly will now face Copa Libertadores champions Palmeiras in the third place encounter on Thursday, February 11,
Meanwhile, Bayern will face CONCACAF champions Tigres UANL in the Club World Cup final later on the same day.
