Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was named the league’s MVP in 2019

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC North rivalry on Sunday, and Good Morning Football’s Peter Schrager wants the 2019 NFL MVP to put on a show.

Compared to the gaudy numbers he put up last season, Jackson had a relatively quiet start to 2020 with 1,135 yards of passing, 10 TDs, two interceptions in six games, 346 yards and two on-site scores.

The Ravens’ record is 5-1, one game behind the undefeated 6-0 Steelers. A week three loss to defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs is the only flaw.

That loss, however, was Jackson’s third of his career to the Chiefs, while still not having to win a playoff game after losing in his first two games, leading to allegations that he is missing out in the big games.

“It’s one of those games where the bright lights are on. We’ve seen him lose one playoff game against the Chargers, one playoff game against the Titans, and the last three times against the Chiefs.

“He’s never seen Big Ben before [Roethlisberger]and there’s a lot of heat around the Steelers now – undefeated – and so if Lamar can step up and show that I’m still an MVP candidate, I’m still that guy, it’ll go a long way.

Ravens sign Stanley for a new five-year contract

Left winger Ronnie Stanley agreed to an extension of five years for the Baltimore Ravens on Friday.

The team announced the deal, which is valued at $ 98.75 million with a signing bonus of $ 22.5 million.

Stanley and the Ravens face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Stanley, 26, was an all-pro in 2019, playing with his fifth-year option tied to his rookie deal as number 6 in the 2016 NFL Draft.
