It’s the first all-Victorian Grand Final in nine years – which happens to be the last time the Cats were in the big dance.
Richmond won the 2017 and 2019 flags, knocking Geelong off both times along the way. You have to do it a third time to make Damien Hardwick a three-time premier coach.
The Cats lost the pre-finals in 2016, 2017 and 2019, but now Chris Scott’s team is finally back in the promised land.

AFL 2020 GRAND FINAL DRAW – WHAT HAPPENS IF A DRAWING IS IN THE GRAND FINAL?
There have been three draws in an AFL Grand Final in AFL / AFL history. The last time was in 2010 when St. Kilda and Collingwood played an exciting draw.
A week later, the two teams played a replay, in which the magpies had convincing winners.
But now there is no grand final draw and no Grand Final repetitionThe AFL has changed its laws in recent years and adapted them again for 2020.
If the scores are the same on Saturday full-time, then:
1. Referees confirm that the scores are identical.
2. There is a six minute break;
3. Teams switch ends;
4. Three minutes of additional time plus time are played.
5. At the end of the first additional period, the siren will sound and the teams will change ends immediately without interruption.
6. The ball is bounced off (or thrown up) in the middle and another three minutes of play time (plus time-on) begin.
7. At the end of this period, the siren will sound and the team with the highest score will be declared the winner.
8. If the scores are still the same, repeat steps 3 through 8 until a result is obtained.
