Press reports revealed that the main referees committee of the Confederation of African Football has determined the referee who will lead the Raja Sports match against its guest Zamalek in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-finals, tomorrow, Sunday.
According to the Moroccan “le 360 sport” website, CAF has decided to appoint the Cameroonian international referee Allium Niant to manage the Raja and Zamalek match, which will be held at exactly nine oclock Sunday evening at the Mohammed V Sports Complex stadium in Casablanca.
The site added that “CAF” decided earlier to postpone the announcement of the referees for the semi-finals of the African Champions League until hours before its start, in light of the desire to increase the referees’ focus in their camp and reduce media pressure on them.
Zamalek will meet Raja in Egypt, facing the return leg on the twenty-fourth of October.
It is reported that CAF settled shortly before appointing Zambian international referee Jani Sikazwe to lead the Wydad and Al-Ahly match in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-finals. (See the details)
