Thank you for reading the news about Elneny reveals whether he wishes to stay at Besiktas or not and now with the details
Egypt international Mohamed revealed the reason behind his move to Turkish giant Besiktas and whether or not he wishes to sing a permanent contract at the club.
Elneny has joined Besiktas on a one-year loan coming from Premier League side Arsenal. Since doing the Black and Whites he made 25 appearance across all competitions and was directly involved in one goal.
Talking to Beinsports, the Egyptian explained how Arsenal teammate Mesut Oil convinced to join Besiktas.
“Besiktas is a big club, Mesut Ozil is the main reason I’m here. He’s like a brother to me and when the offer came I asked him about his opinion and he told me that it’s a very big club with a huge fanbase,” Elneny said.
The 27-year-old also compared the English Premier League and the Turkish Super Lig, saying that there’s not much of a difference.
“Before coming I thought there was going to be a huge difference but when I came I realized there’s not that big of a difference,” he added.

“There’s a lot of good player here, the league is quite tough and many teams compete for the league. All teams are strong and can beat one another.
“The atmosphere here is great, it’s an amazing feeling to play infront of our fans, their support doesn’t stop throughout the 90 minutes. I’m very happy to be part of the Besiktas family and who knows what the future holds,” he continued.
Besiktas could sign Elneny on a permanent basis if they are to activate his buyout option, however manager Sergen Yalçın dismissed this option after revealing he doesn’t wish to sign the former FC Basel man.
Nonetheless this doesn’t seem to have stopped the midfielder who is open to the idea of signing a long-term contract.
“If the club is willing to pay my buyout clause I would be happy to stay if the situation allows it.
“Abdulla Avci is a really good manager and he did his best, we were unlucky and failed to win some easy games.
“This is a big club and they always want to win that’s why the manage was changed but that doesn’t change the fact that Avci was a good manager. Sergen Yalçın is a good coach, he knows the players, Turkish football and he likes to press high.
“He [Yalçın] wants to perform at 100% or else you’ll be benched, he can one day become one of the bet coaches in Europe and the world,” believes Elneny.
He then expressed his disappointment after Besiktas got eliminated from the Europa League group stages after finishing bottom of Group K as they lost five games and came out on top just once.
“It took me sometime to understand what happened, I think we could’ve finished top of our group but we had some difficulties. We lost to Wolverhampton in the last minute and then against Bratislava and Braga at home.
“Sometimes football is about moments, our latest game against Trabzonspor is the best example. We had many opportunities to win the game but they ended up scoring twice and we lost two points just like in the Europa League.
“It’s a privilege to play alongside him [Atiba Hutchinson] and I want to thank him, we have a really good understanding and we always discuss our matches,” he concluded.
