Egypt international Alexander Jakobsen shined on his debut for Sarpsborg in their 1-1 draw against Orenburg on Friday in a friendly in Estepona, Spain.

Jakobsen joined Sarpsborg from Norrkoping after spending almost a year and a half with the Swedish side.

The 25-year-old joined Norrkoping’s squad last Tuesday in Marbella as they were training ahead of the new season.

Following his arrival, the Danish-Egyptian made an impact against Orenburg on Friday despite starting as a substitute, thanks to Jakobsen, Sarpsborg were able to equalize.

The newcomer created the goal that leveled his side with Orenburg at the 83rd minute as they were trailing by one goal 16 minutes earlier.

Jakobsen spoke exclusively to Kingfut’s Michel Jreissati and expressed his emotions after the game while also acknowledging the support he gets from Egypt.

“It was nice to play, and we played against a good Russian team,” Jakobsen told Kingfut.

“I feel good, it’s nice to be in Marbella in the heat and perform, I try to be better every day. And I love the support I get from Egypt.”

The Danish-Egyptian was heavily involved in Sarpsborg’s goal as he dropped smartly to the middle of the pitch, dragging the opposition’s defense and creating space at the edge of the box.

He then found himself with plenty of time to think, thanks to his strategic movement, Jakobsen played the ball through the right side to another new name in Moustafa Abdellaoue who found the net after a couple of touches.
