Thank you for reading the news about Al Ahly’s Saleh Gomaa set for Finland move and now with the details
Dubai - Yasmine El Tohamy - Al Ahly have announced they are waiting for a Finnish offer for Saleh Gomaa, as the midfielder is set to depart the Reds.
Saleh Gomaa has struggled to break into the first team since Weiler’s appointment as the Reds’ manager, failing to make the squad for any game so far until now.
This led to Gomaa criticizing the Swiss coach, saying that the latter has been unfair with him, before the player decided to miss a couple of training sessions without informing the club’s board.
And a couple of weeks ago, Al Ahly boss Weiler revealed that Gomaa will have no role with the club, wishing him luck with his new club.
However, the 26-year-old didn’t receive any offers during the January transfer window, which kept him at the club until now.
But Director of football Sayed Abdel-Hafiz has revealed that they are awaiting an offer from Finland for Gomaa in the upcoming period.
“We are awaiting a loan offer for Saleh Gomaa from one of the countries that still has the transfer window open in it,” Abdel-Hafiz said.
“Finland is one of these countries, and we are expecting a loan offer from there,” he added.
This will not be the first time a player from Al Ahly has moved to a Finnish club on loan, as both Abdallah El-Said and Amr Gamal joined Kuopion Palloseura and HJK Helsinki in 2018.
Saleh Gomaa has been at Al Ahly since July 2015, joining the Reds from ENPPI. However, he was limited to less than 70 appearances due to his poor mentality, according to many former coaches at Al Ahly.
