- Yasmine El Tohamy - Junior Ajayi’s goal was the difference as Al Ahly defeated Etoile Du Sahel 1-0 in the CAF Champions League group stages.

Etoile started on the front foot, when Karim Aribi advanced towards the box and unleashed a powerful strike that was parried away by Mohamed El-Shennawy in the fifth minute.

Aribi was once again at heart of attack for the visitors in the 21st minute, as he dribbled past Al Ahly’s defence, however, his low strike denied by El-Shennawy.

Al Ahly opened the scoreline in the 32nd minute. Junior Ajayi smashed the ball into the back of the net after Hussein El-Shahat’s initial strike was cleared off the goaline.

10 minutes after the restart, Marwan Mohsen received the ball up the right flank and cut inside, but his left footed curler from the edge of the box went just wide.

The Red Devils maintained locked defence until the referee blew the fulltime whistle securing the full three points.

The win takes the Reds to Group B’s top spot with 10 points before their last group match against Al Hilal Omdurman on the 1st of February.
