SC Braga and Egypt international striker Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’ is linked with a move to Aston Villa as they look to boost the depth of their squad up front.

While Premier League survival was already a tall order to begin with for Aston Villa, it became even harder this month when they lost both of their first-team strikers.

Brazilian big money signing Wesley suffered a devastating ACL injury which rules him out for the season, while Jonathan Kodjia has been shipped off to Qatari outfit Al Gharafa.

While they went a long way to addressing this issue with the signing of Tanzania star Mbwana Ally Samatta, Villa are still on the lookout for more reinforcements and one of the names being touted is Egyptian striker Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’.

According to 90Min, Kouka is a ‘serious target for Aston Villa’, who are looking to add another Egyptian to their ranks.

However, just a few days ago, reports emerged in Greece, revealing that Kouka has already passed his medical at Olympiacos as he is set to return back for a second stint.

After his initial success at Braga made him one of the hottest properties in Portuguese football, Kouka has somewhat regressed and despite a decent season on loan at Olympiacos last year, he does not appear to be in Ruben Amorim’s plans at the Arsenalistas.

With the Egyptian ownership at Villa Park, Kouka would join his international teammates in Ahmed Elmohamady and Mahmoud Hassan ‘Trezeguet’ should he make the move.
