Sebastien Desabre takes full responsibility for Zamalek defeat

Thank you for reading the news about Sebastien Desabre takes full responsibility for Zamalek defeat and now with the details

- Yasmine El Tohamy - Pyramids FC manager Sebastien Desabre took full responsibility for his side’s 2-0 loss against Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League.

Since losing to Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final back in September, Pyramids remained unbeaten across all competitions before the Whites came back to haunt them by securing a 2-0 win in game-week 7 of the Egyptian Premier League.

Desabre talked about his side’s performance during the game saying that their rivals deserved the three points.

“We performed well in the first-half, we controlled Tarek Hamed and Ferjani Sassi. We lost a lot of balls at the start of the game and we only had two chances,” Desabre told Onsport TV channel.

“We implemented a strategy in the second-half to try and take control of the midfield by putting on Abdallah El-Said and John Antwi on. We conceded an early goal in the second-half and Zamalek were overall stronger than us today.

“We took risks to try and equalize and then conceded the second goal. There wasn’t much difference between both sides in the second period, they just scored from four chances and we didn’t.

“I take full responsibility for the loss and I have to keep working in the upcoming games to find a way to be stronger in the league as we are in Africa,” he added.

Pyramids currently top their group in the CAF Confederation Cup after winning their opening two games and will face Al Masry in their next fixture.

The Frenchman then justified not starting Abdallah El-Said and John Antwi. While revealing whether or not they plan on signing new players in the upcoming transfer window.

“I don’t know if we deserved a penalty or not, I was far away from the action.

“Abdallah El-Said wasn’t ready yet as he just returned from injury. As for Antwi it was a tactical decision, I then wanted someone to press high and that’s why I put him on in the second-half.”

“That’s my responsibility and I’ll have to analyze and see what the team needs especially in midfield,” he concluded.

Their next game will take place next Tuesday December 17th against 17th-placed El-Gouna, who recently sacked manager Nebojša Milošević.
