- Yasmine El Tohamy - Al Masry manager Ehab Galal felt that his die deserved more out of their defeat against Pyramids in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Pyramids defeated Al Masry 2-1 on Sunday, thanks to goals from John Antwi and Mohamed El-Gabbas.

John Antwi opened the scoring in the 54th minute before Saidou Simpore scored a penalty to level the scoring as Mohamed El-Gabbas’ late overhead kick secured all three points for Pyramids.

Speaking after the game, Ehab Galal explained the reasons why Al Masry dropped points on Sunday against Pyramids, but still expects his side to make it through to the next round.

“Anger and frustration got the better of some players today and they lost their concentration because of it,” Galal told Bein Sports.

“We made some mistakes today and Pyramids were lucky with their chances.

“Overall, we had a good game today. I don’t think that we deserved to lose, but that is football.

“A few mistakes from us and from the referee cost us the game today, but the performance was good and we still have a chance of competing for the group’s top spot,” he added.

Following their defeat, Al Masry are now second in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup with six points after three games played.

Their next game will be in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday against Smouha. Kick-off takes place at 17:00 CLT.
