- Yasmine El Tohamy - Al Ahly’s director of football Sayed Abdel-Hafiz has discussed their game against FC Platinum while talking about their Champions League title aspirations.

The Red Devils go into their game against Zimbabwean side Platinum placed third in Group B of the CAF Champions League with three points after two games played.

Manager Rene Weiler has already named his 21-man squad to face Platinum as Ramy Rabia and Walid Soliman both returned to the squad.

Speaking ahead of the game, Abdel-Hafiz spoke about the importance of their clash against Platinum, saying the Red Devils want to top their group.

“The Platinum game is very important for us and we are preparing well for it,” Abdel-Hafiz told reporters.

“We don’t have many absences now, especially that Ramy Rabia, Ahmed Fathi, and more have all recovered from their injuries.

“We need to be efficient because the CAF Champions League games go through different phases, so we need to have a strong game to win and become group leaders.

“The Champions League is vital for Al Ahly and the fans. We have aspirations of winning the title but we are also doing well in the league which is good,” Abdel-Hafiz added.

Al Ahly host FC Platinum at the Al Salam Stadium in the CAF Champions League on Saturday. Kick-off takes place at 21:00 CLT.
