While Lebanon is trying to mend its Gulf relations, the Secretary General of the terrorist “Hezbollah” surprised the Lebanese with an offensive speech that raised the level of suffocation in the sinking country.

Hassan Nasrallah’s speech came at a time when Lebanon is witnessing difficult economic and living conditions, ignoring the calls for dialogue and calm sent by President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Najib Mikati to control matters with Arab countries.

In conjunction with the anniversary of the killing of the Iranian Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, Nasrallah seemed to be the one who frankly announces the Iranian control of the Lebanese arena, by raising the banner of “We are all Qassem” above the banner of “We are all the homeland.”

In this context, the publisher of the Greater Lebanon website said: Writer and political analyst Muhammad Nimr: “It is clear that Hezbollah made the decision to confront it, but it is in a state of complete bankruptcy that clearly appeared in resorting to insults to the point of insulting the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.”

He added in an interview with “Al-Ain News”: “It is also clear that the state of bankruptcy has begun to appear more and more after Saudi Arabia proved once again the involvement of Hezbollah in the Yemen issue and the targeting of Saudi cities with terrorist drones.”

Saudi success

Nimr continued, “Hezbollah also noticed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, despite all the campaigns against it by opponents such as ISIS and the Brotherhood, and Iran in the first place, continued its progress, both at the level of the internal house, which showed cohesion in the face of attempts to distort and strike the Kingdom, as well as development operations at the hands of the Crown Prince. Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which is a magnet for countries around the world.

And he added, “Just as the Saudi movement towards the Gulf countries to unify the position on foreign issues and maintain a solid, unified position, disturbed the stalkers, especially Iran, so the latter gave the green light to its arms, including Hezbollah, which in turn resorted to cheap insults.”

The Lebanese expert expected a greater Saudi openness to the Arab countries to arrange the Arab House as well as the Gulf, to confront these pressures, and this is what began to appear in Iraq by refining the Iranian presence and limiting it to specific frameworks and reducing the extent of its dominance over the Iraqi state, he said.

Militia Dilemma

According to Nimr, it appears that Hezbollah is suffering from a real crisis inside Lebanon. He is facing a popular and media campaign that calls him by name and accuses him of being the reason for reaching the current stage of collapse, obstructing any work for the Lebanese and paralyzing the government, as voices began to rise in his face from all circles.

Hezbollah’s crisis and the growth of critical voices became evident in several stations, and the party’s attempt to break into different sectarian environments by paying money, as happened in the Akkar governorate, did not change anything from reality, and upon the first test these environments proved that their loyalty is Arab, according to Nimr.

Politically, and talking to Nimr, Hezbollah suffers from the distance of its allies from it, especially its Christian ally; The Free Patriotic Movement, which some time ago began publicly criticizing the terrorist party, accusing it of covering corruption and setting conditions for maintaining the alliance with it.

The head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gibran Bassil, does not leave an opportunity at the present time, except that he threatens to break the alliance with Hezbollah, especially since the “current” faces internal party demands to break this alliance immediately because it is electorally harmful, and the party knows very well this matter, according to Nimr.

The Lebanese expert concluded that Iranian orders, the internal situation, and the expansion of Saudi Arabia in the Arab world made Hezbollah lose its nerve and come out with the latest speech against Saudi Arabia.

“Iranian order”

In turn, writer and political analyst Tony Boulos saw that Nasrallah’s recent speech and his attack on Saudi Arabia come in the context of a clear Iranian operational matter, especially after the failure of the Vienna negotiations and Iran’s inability to impose any of its conditions in the negotiations.

Boulos told Al-Ain News, “Iran knows that any agreement in the region must pass through Saudi Arabia and behind it the Gulf states, and these have their own project that confronts the Iranian project.”

He added, “Therefore, Iran sought, through its arms in various countries, to pounce on Saudi Arabia, but it failed to confront the other project that is getting stronger.”

“What is happening in Iraq and the problems that Iraqi militias create in the face of the political process, in addition to the intensification of the war in Yemen through the Houthi militia, and the fierce attack by Hezbollah on Saudi Arabia are all indications of the current Iranian predicament,” he added.

Paul also believes that “Hezbollah has also failed in Lebanese internal politics, as it faces great popular resentment against it as a result of its policies and the failure of its representatives in development, governance, and management of Lebanese political and vital files.”

He added, “Therefore, before the parliamentary elections, Hezbollah is trying to attract its voters with big slogans and to win them over sectarian and sectarianism by attacking Saudi Arabia and exporting the illusion of a major battle.”
