The farmer “Ayad Al-Ahmadi” in the village of Al-Jafr, west of Madinah, which was famous for its cultivation since ancient times, succeeded in bringing back his father’s old farms, which were established 65 years ago, to life after its wells had dried up and its palms and trees had died.
After the return of rain and torrential rain, and within four years, “Al-Ahmadi” was able, with all determination and determination, to bring it back to the fore again, and called it “Naqwat mint” to become one of the global farms that experts and interested people from all over the world flock to, through his success in organic farming. Which is not used by chemical fertilizers and pesticides despite the difficulty of organic farming, especially in this area.
Among the developments that the farm witnessed is that the young Ahmadi brought some plants from Europe and the Arab countries, which met with great success, perhaps more than their original homeland, and 60 types of aromatic plants, medicinal herbs, rare vegetables and fruits.
Yesterday, a delegation of Italian experts interested in food and high-quality agricultural production visited that farm, and were impressed by the diversity and multiplicity of crops, including urban roses, green and blue tea, nigella, chamomile, hibiscus, fragrant, wormwood and lemongrass, in addition to 20 species and forms of mint. Some of which were brought from the European continent as well as from Africa, and he was able within a short period of time to establish a factory for drying and packaging some local products such as urban roses, mint, henna, rosemary and sage, with Saudi hands by providing job opportunities for young men and women from the village.
Head of Delegation and Expert Team Leader Professor Francesco from Italy commended what he and his team had witnessed in the amazing development and success of organic farming in terms of production quantity, product quality and crop diversity.
Professor Francesco stated that the atmosphere in the Kingdom is conducive to the fertility of the lands, praising the remarkable development he witnessed during his visit to the Kingdom, and considered that this visit is one of the best visits he has had in all parts of the world, and the appraiser of the genuine Saudi generosity that he found through the warmth and reception he and his team received. Since they arrived in the Kingdom, describing the Saudi people as generous and hospitable people.
In turn, Al Ahmadi thanked God – Glory be to Him – and then the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – may God protect him – for the support and encouragement that the farmer has found in recent years. This encouraged young people to take the initiative and engage in the field of agriculture, and urged young people to take this step. Al-Ahmadi expressed his willingness to help and support all those who wish to go through this experience by providing advice and guidance, as well as by providing available seeds for free.
