Abu al-Qasim Khadbakhsh, the official in developing the Forzan oil field at the Iranian Continental Shelf company, reported that Fars has reported that a housing platform has been installed in the joint field with Saudi Arabia, weighing 680 tons.
Khadabakhsh pointed out that the installation process took place in the early hours of today against the background of preparing the necessary conditions and infrastructure through the specialists of the Continental Shelf Company and the contracting party, indicating that the platform was loaded some time ago.
He explained that the dimensions of the platform are 20 by 14 meters, and it consists of 4 floors, and by its installation, the appropriate capabilities are available for the employees of the extraction department in the Foruzan joint oil field.
On the other hand, Khadbakhsh confirmed that 13 oil wells will be drilled within the framework of the development of the Forzan field, among the 33 projects on the agenda of the Ministry of Oil to stabilize and increase production.
He noted that the first stage of developing the field began about 3 months ago, and aims to maintain and stabilize the actual production and thus increase the field’s production capacity by 12 thousand barrels per day.
The Forzan field jointly with the Saudi Marjan field is located 100 kilometers from the south of the Iranian island of Khark, and Iran’s share in the joint field is 11%, while Saudi Arabia owns 89%.
In early October, the Iranian authorities announced preparations to install a marine housing platform in the field, indicating that they had headed to the joint maritime zone with Saudi Arabia in the Gulf.
