The National Center for E-Learning announced the completion of six global bodies conducting two comprehensive studies on the experience of public and higher education in the Kingdom during the Corona pandemic, with the aim of documenting and studying the reality of the experience, and coming up with initiatives to develop and improve e-learning practices in accordance with the latest global practices and standards in this field.These two authorities conducted the two studies with the participation of more than 342,000 students, faculty members, teachers, parents and school leaders. The first study was prepared by the E-Learning Consortium OLC, with the participation of the International Association for Educational Technologies (ISTE), the Quality Matters Organization (QM), the UNESCO, the National Center for Distance Learning Research and Advanced Technologies in the United States of America (DETA), and the Institute of Information Technology in Education of UNESCO IITE. Whereas, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, in cooperation with Harvard University in public education, prepared the second study.

During the two studies, reference comparisons were made with more than 193 countries around the world, and the two studies showed the Kingdom’s excellence in the diversity of options available, including, for example, the electronic content and satellite channels available for e-learning in public education, provided by the Kingdom, and the percentage of countries that succeeded in providing them At the national level, only 38%.

The study conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Harvard University included a comparison about the Kingdom’s response to education during the Corona pandemic with 37 member states, and the results showed the Kingdom’s progress in 13 out of 16 indicators on the average of these countries. Great support for overcoming obstacles to activating e-learning, and the general education study indicated that there is a clear strategy for reopening schools in the Kingdom, and measuring any losses and treating them with the Ministry of Education.

The E-Learning Union Organization OLC commended the great efforts made by the Ministry of Education in dealing with the crisis in terms of the variety of options available, and the speed of response to changes to ensure the success of the transition to e-learning in an effective manner.

It is noteworthy that the two studies recommended 71 development initiatives proposed for public education and 78 proposed developmental initiatives for higher education.
