Artists are banned from entering Saudi Arabia and the UAE

Social networking sites have turned into a weapon against the artist, for whom his comments or tweets are calculated and take a hostile turn against him, so that the artist’s political opinion will be a reason for counter campaigns, followed by the announcement of his ban from entering the country, which is what Saudi Arabia and the Emirates have recently specialized in, especially after the announcement of the Emirati-Israeli normalization.

Electronic campaigns are launched against an artist because of his political position on a certain issue, and he is either equal in that publication, or admired, as he signed the tweet of the Lebanese singer Elissa, and the admiration that the Syrian singer originally put on.

The last victim of the campaigns and the banning decisions, what happened with the Kuwaiti actress Haya Al-Shuaibi, who published a picture of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, during his participation in the funeral of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, and wrote a comment in which she said that he is the only Emir who attended the funeral, praising this position.

Al-Shuaibi published another photo of Sheikh Sabah with the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, and attached it to the phrase “O God, he was a champion of truth, an enemy of falsehood, God have mercy on him with your mercy.”

This matter was considered by the Saudi singers as a provocation to them, which exposed the Kuwaiti artist to the attack and to launch a hashtag against her with the title # Haya_Shaibi_Based_Saudi Arabia, in which they demanded to prevent her from participating in Saudi business, especially since her fame came through her appearance on MBC programs and the series “Tash Ma Tash” .

Indeed, barely hours passed after these demands, until an official decision was issued, stating that Haya al-Shaabi would not appear in the Saudi media.

According to private sources, an email was sent by the Saudi Audiovisual Media Authority to all media outlets, stating that the Haya Al-Shuaibi series should not be shown on Saudi channels, whether old or new, and not appear in any media meeting.

Haya Al-Shuaibi is not the first Kuwaiti actress to issue a decree banning her from appearing in the Saudi media, as her colleague Mona Shaddad preceded her a year ago when she posted a video clip praising the Emir of Qatar, putting his picture on her clothes, and expressing her love for Qatar in the video, which led to the issuance of a decision By suspending her artistic activity and her appearance in the Saudi media.

Mona Shaddad spoke in a television interview about this decision, and said that she was banned in Saudi Arabia because of her love for Qatar.

And if the image of Sheikh Tamim had prevented the appearance of Haya Al-Shuaibi and Mona Shaddad in the Saudi media, the tweet of the Lebanese singer Elissa caused Emirati anger, not only against her, but also against the Syrian singer Asala, who liked the tweet in which Elissa spoke of her love for Palestine after announcing a treaty Peace between Israel and the Emirates.

The Emirati tweeters launched a tag in which they accused the two artists of insulting the Emirates and criticizing the peace treaty between Israel and the Emirates, and the tweeters demanded that they be prevented from entering the UAE and holding concerts there, which prompted Asala to cancel the admiration for Elisa’s tweet, and publish an apologetic tweet to the Emirates.

But it does not seem that Asala’s apology was echoed in the UAE, as sources said that a decision was made to suspend her appearances and Elisa’s appearances in the Emirati media and not hold concerts for them.
