Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - BASRA — A drone crashed at an oil field in Iraq’s southern Basra province on Saturday without causing damage or injuries, the Iraqi Defense Ministry said.

The ministry said the drone fell at 8:30 a.m. local time inside the Majnoon oil field in Al-Deir district, within the operational area of the Energy Police.

It said the drone did not explode and caused no material damage or human casualties.

Forces at the site immediately notified Basra Operations Command and local police, after which engineering teams and explosive ordnance disposal units were dispatched to secure and remove the drone in line with established procedures.

Security authorities said they are continuing to monitor the situation and take measures to ensure the safety of vital facilities and workers.

On Friday, Iraq’s Oil Ministry said its teams are ready to restore production levels once the ongoing regional conflict ends.

A week earlier, Iraq reduced oil output in Basra fields from 3.3 million barrels per day to 900,000 barrels per day amid the ongoing escalation involving Israel, the United States, and Iran.
