Sudan: Deaths in Omdurman protests, and the Unified Doctors Office issues an urgent appeal

The Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors said today, Thursday, that three people were killed in protests in the Omdurman region.

The committee said in a statement: “Three martyrs died in the processions of the Omdurman region, by the bullets of the coup forces and its militias with multiple names and tasks.”

She added: “The coup authority is practicing the most heinous violations against our people now and continues to commit its massacres in a media blackout that will not cover the inevitable fall, as the chases continue inside the neighborhoods with the firing of live bullets and the blatant end of the sanctities of homes.”

In addition, the Unified Office of Physicians in Sudan issued an urgent appeal this evening, in which it condemned the security’s use of excessive force against protesters, and called on doctors to join Omdurman hospitals.

The office said in a statement: “The “December 30 million” is subjected to excessive repression by the coup authority using live bullets and all methods, which led to the accumulation of cases of injuries with live bullets and others in hospitals in the Omdurman region, including critical cases.”

He added, “We appeal to all medical cadres in all specialties to join the teams working in Omdurman hospitals, especially the Forty Hospital, to save the injured.”
